Description

In this section of the course, we will be discussing questions posed by several subfields of psychology: developmental, clinical, social, and personality psychology. Here are the fascinating questions we will be addressing: 1) How do nature and nurture shape both human universals and individual differences across people, 2) How do we develop cognitively, morally, socially, and emotionally during childhood and adolescence, 3) How do nature and nurture interact to shape the emergence of psychological disorders, and how does psychotherapy work, and 4) How do situations and personality traits mutually influence our behavior and why? I have chosen these four questions because I am convinced that they are relevant to your lives and because these are some of the questions that draw students to the study of psychology
